Therapy services are developed collaboratively and based on the needs of each individual.  The best fitting approach may include one, or many, therapeutic modalities or counselling techniques.  Every strategy will be applied in a safe, respectful, non-judgemental, and confidential manner, allowing you to set therapeutic goals aimed at achieving positive change.  Below are some of the most commonly used therapeutic approaches.
  • Psychoeducation

Providing information and support to understand the presenting challenges and common management strategies

  • Play Therapy

Using play to help children and teens explore their emotions, experiences, and challenges.  Play is a natural medium for children to express their inner experience, especially when connecting through words is not always easiest or even possible.

  • Mindfulness

Bringing one's attention to the present and away from focusing on negative thought patterns and subsequent behaviours

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)

Developing psychological flexibility through acceptance and behaviour therapy to increase values-based living

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

Exploring how to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and develop strategies for healthy cognition, behaviour, and emotion

  • Trauma-Focused

Building skills and strategies to understand, cope with, and process any traumatic experience to reduce or eliminate trauma symptoms

  • Emotion-Focused

Using attachment theory to build skills to understand, regulate, and foster healthy emotional responses

  • Internal Family Systems

Developing an understanding of the core self by learning about how different parts of the self function as an entire system
